Our Teachers

An Aquatots teacher is the best of the best – they undergo the most thorough and intensive training programme in the industry with extensive classroom and hands-on training.

But what sets our teachers apart is not just their impressive knowledge or endless enthusiasm – it’s their genuine smiles and personal interest in your child’s swimming development.

You won’t see our teachers standing on the side barking instructions, but rather, they will always be in the water with you, getting to know your child and letting their incredible passion shine through.

We understand there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to swimming, so instead, we’ll aim to develop and nurture your little ones' ability according to their own pace. That means when your child masters that new skill or pushes through a tricky time, we’re right there celebrating with you.

Most of our teachers are parents just like you and have swum their own children with us – catching the bug for teaching after experiencing the Aquatots programme first-hand and understanding what makes an enjoyable learning experience. And with annual rigorous first aid and rescue training, there aren’t better hands you could be in.

Our Pools

If Aquatots teachers are the best then we need to make sure their ‘classrooms’ are too - so we have to admit that we are fussy and won’t swim just anywhere!

Our lessons take place in over 45 locations, 7 days a week, so we have strict requirements to determine what makes a pool suitable for hire so that we can ensure the best possible experience for both you and your child.

Here are just some of what makes a pool Aquatots worthy:

• Private Pool → We want your child to get the most out of their lesson so we’ll always conduct them privately with only Aquatots swimmers in the pool during a class.
• Warm Pools Only → We use pools of 31°C plus for baby lessons with most being heated to 33°C so that your little ones can have the most fun without being distracted by low water temperatures.
• Parking → We try very hard to ensure our pools have parking either onsite or within a 5 minute walk of the pool entrance so it makes your experience that little bit easier.
• Changing Facilities → Separate changing facilities as standard for male and female parent/carers to help all our swimmers feel comfortable.
• Water Safety → You and your child’s safety are paramount to us so our teachers will test the water chemicals and check the temperature every day before lessons commence to check it’s suitable for safe swimming. If a pool isn’t right then we simply won’t swim.

Our History

Over 25 years ago, Evy Bentzon-Jones started with the extraordinary idea to provide comprehensive baby swimming lessons and two pools to teach them in.

Fast forward a year, using her passion, enthusiasm and teaching ability, she had managed to increase this to 5 pools and 104 babies.

Now Aquatots have grown phenomenally and offer 29 progressive levels of carefully designed lessons to provide families with a unique and fulfilling journey from baby through to primary school years.

We have maintained our spot at the forefront of the baby swimming industry - leading the way in having fun whilst learning how to swim and enjoying the water safely, which we proudly offer to over 4,500 children every week.

Our aim has always been to provide swimmers with the best, most progressive, structured and fun swim classes available and the passion Evy started with in 1997 is still there shining through, and it's with immense pride Evy sees this being achieved through all the Aquatots Team each and every day.
