Being an Aquatots Teacher is exciting, fun and rewarding! There aren't many jobs where you can boast about teaching lifesaving skills from a tiny baby, right up to achieving their 5 metre distance swim as a toddler - and beyond! Our teachers will tell you, it doesn't feel like a job at all.
Each week is different and you become just as invested in your little swimmers progress as their parents are. As you would expect, singing and playing are essential parts of every lesson, but as well as having a splashing good time, we teach our little swimmers and their parents many essential water safety skills. Why wouldn't you love to be a part of that!
The role is perfect for those looking for well-paid, part-time hours to fit around their family, school terms, and/or other work commitments. A large majority of our swimmers attend their swimming lessons at the weekend, so if you are available to teach on a Saturday or Sunday (or both!) we would love to hear from you!
Do you have a love of swimming and a desire to work with babies and children? This could be the career for you!
The Aquatots Teacher Development Course is incredible. I found it to be the perfect mix of classroom and in-pool training.

How do I train?
Becoming an Aquatots Teacher is the most fun and rewarding challenge. You will enjoy learning how to become a member of the most inspiring Professional Teaching Team in Baby Swimming and our training program sets the benchmark within the industry.
The training compromises of theory and practical sessions. Your theory will take place largely at our training centre in Farleigh, Croydon which will also have some tutored pool sessions included. Using our Trainee Area, many modules are now also available online for you to learn in the comfort of your own home. We will also provide First Aid and underwater photography training.
The practical sessions will involve you attending weekly pool sessions for a term (9 weeks) with one of our Teacher Development Trainers, where you will get hands on experience of real lessons. You will gain invaluable experience working alongside our most experienced Teachers whilst they teach their normal classes, giving you the opportunity to practice your own teaching skills whist under the guidance of your trainer. Upon completion of your training you will be awarded with the Aquatots Baby Swimming Teacher Certification and look forward to teaching your very own babies the following term!
Our minimum hourly rate starts at £22 per hour, with plenty of opportunities to earn more from commission on various merchandise sales and performance targets. Once you've settled in, the minimum hourly rate with rise to £26, and with additional training you could earn up to £32 per hour!
