My favourite bits: Too many to choose from! I love every part of it; from the new level one babies having their first dip under water, toddlers achieving their five meters, child swimmers having fun snorkelling, to my aqua-natal mums bonding together.

A few words from Sarah: Becoming an Aquatots Teacher was definitely one of my finer moments! The swimming programme is fantastic and being part of the team makes me very proud.

My favourite bits: Getting to know the families so well & being part of a wonderful journey. From the first day when you meet to seeing the children go on to achieve amazing things at such a young age.
Teacher Name: Laura Davies
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2017
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Mentor, Teacher Development Trainer, Pool Coordinator and Recruitment
Currently teaching at: Ottershaw and Staines
A few words from Laura: I have always worked within very high pressure and stressful environments and always thrived on it until I had my first child. My whole world and perspective changed and after starting baby swimming with my daughter I became very interested in becoming a teacher I wanted to do something which would balance family life with something truly worthwhile. Once my son was born 18 months later, I finally got the opportunity to pursue a role as a teacher with Aquatots which allowed me to achieve this. I adore babies, toddlers and children and having an opportunity to make a real difference to their lives and achievements is truly amazing
My favourite bits: I love so many things about being an Aquatots teacher from helping parents to become confident in supporting and developing their children to seeing them achieve something new too. I particularly enjoy capturing their special moments underwater in photos and seeing the look of amazement on both parents and children’s faces when they see their prints for the first time.
Teacher Name: Dani Gittins
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2018
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler, Child and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Pool Coordinator, Teacher Development Trainer and Regional Mentor
Currently teaching at: Reigate and Horley
A few words from Dani: I absolutely loved doing baby swimming with all 3 of my children and after my third I was looking for a new career which fitted in around family life. I had worked for many years as a Water sports Instructor so I had plenty of experience working with children and water so swimming just felt like the perfect progression. I love working with parents and babies/toddlers and, having swum with my own, I know how much fun it is for both!
My favourite bits: I love it all! It's lovely to meet the new babies in level one and to see their first swims but also to see how quickly they get used to it and what they can achieve by the later levels. I also love getting children in the later toddler levels to swim 5m completely on their own for the very first time in front of their very proud parents and teacher!!
Teaching with Aquatots since: October 2016
Qualified to teach: Baby, Foundation, Toddler and Child
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Teacher Development Trainer, Mentor, Marketing Coordinator and Aquatots Development Team.
Currently teaching at: Sidcup
A few words from Sarah: When I was pregnant with my son people always used to asked me what I was looking forward to the most and I would tell them how much I couldn't wait to take him swimming. As a young child one of my favourite things to do was to go swimming with my dad and my siblings and when I took my son swimming for the first time, I was consumed with all that happiness again. He now swims with Aquatots and is doing so well and so when the opportunity came up for me to become a teacher I was delighted that I would now be able to help other parents and their little ones experience the happiness, pride and most of all the bond that comes with baby swimming.
My favourite bits: That look of pride on the parents' face when they see just how much their little one is capable of, watching everyone grow in confidence so quickly and of course that all important high-five and massive smile from the little one's themselves!
Teacher Name: Nikki Simms
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2016
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler, Child and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Mentor, Team Leader, Teacher Development Trainer and Aquatots Development Team
Currently teaching at: Croydon Old Palace and Selhurst
A few words from Nikki: After having my daughter in 2013, I decided that going back to a full-time job with an hour commute there and back wasn't me anymore, and wanted hold out for that perfect work-life balance job. After swimming with Aquatots for several terms I saw they were recruiting, applied and as the saying goes the rest is history! Seeing how well my daughter is doing in the Aquatots programme is such a buzz, and now I can extend that to all my swimmers to! Being in the pool with the small babies right up to the young toddlers is so much fun and so rewarding. Water confidence and safety has always been an important skill I wanted to pass onto my daughter which is why we started at 4 months, and now having the opportunity to do this for many more children is very exciting!
My favourite bits: I love seeing the babies and their parents become more and more confident over the weeks. It is also a great feeling when you start noticing that the babies are understanding the keywords and close their eyes before having a swim underwater. How much they take in so young is always a pleasant (but not an unexpected!) surprise.
Teacher Name: Madeleine Abel
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2023
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities:
Currently teaching at: Streatham
A few words from Madeleine: I have always loved swimming. Growing up it was one of my favourite things to do with my family and it plays a huge part in a lot of happy childhood memories for me. I swam competitively at school and also did some ASA child swim teaching and lifeguarding before university. When I was pregnant with my son Monty baby swimming was the thing I was most looking forward to doing with him. Both of my children now swim with Aquatots, Monty in the toddler levels and Emilia in the baby levels. We swim regularly as a family and it is amazing to see them enjoying swimming as much as I do. When the opportunity came up to become an Aquatots teacher I jumped at the chance. I loved the idea of sharing my passion for swimming with other families. I feel incredibly privileged to do something that I love as a job.
My favourite bits: Watching the little ones progress and witnessing all the things they are able to achieve from such a young age. The look of happiness and pride on both baby and parent's faces when they master a new skill. Being a part of the learning to swim journey for so many families. Knowing that as well as all of the fun, the lifesaving skills I am teaching might make a difference one day.

Teaching with Aquatots since: January 2020
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler, Child and Foundation Levels
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Pool coordinator and Teacher Development Trainer
Currently teaching at: Worcester Park, Whiteley Village and Selhurst
A few words from Lorna: I’ve always loved being in the water and swam for my county when I was younger so it was only natural that when I had my daughter that I got her into swimming as early as possible and that just so happened to be with Aquatots. Then when an opportunity arose for me to learn to teach babies to swim, I jumped at the chance.
My favourite bits: I just love seeing the babies enjoying being in the water, having fun with their parents and learning new skills. It’s so rewarding watching them develop over time especially those who start off being quite nervous and become more confident.
Teacher Name: Sasha Beale
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2019
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler levels and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities:
Currently teaching at: Heathrow
A few words from Sasha: I have always loved swimming. It’s in my genes. I am a Pisces and the minute I am in water I feel at home. Aquatots came into my life at a time when I was losing the love of my career. I had done nothing else but the same job since finishing my education. And with having two crazy daughters I started thinking I needed something that allows me to have more time with them and enjoying life with them before they grow and disown me for not being cool anymore!
My favourite bits: I love teaching. I love seeing the water confidence grow in the babies in my classes. And at heart I am a big kid and try to bring as much fun to the class for babies and parents.
Teacher Name: Abi Bignell
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2021
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddlers and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Marketing Coordinator
Currently teaching at: Godstone, Reigate and East Grinstead
A few words from Abi: Swimming and being in the water is something I’ve always enjoyed from a young age - I’ve always felt totally at home in the water and would spend many a holiday always in the pool or ocean! Now as an adult I still love it and enjoy taking part in various water sports.
As soon as my son was born, I knew I wanted to instil in him the same love of being in the water, so we started with Aquatots as soon as he turned 10 weeks old. I’ve loved watching him develop and become more water confident, and when the opportunity to become an Aquatots teacher came up, I didn’t hesitate. To be a part of other little ones learning experiences and watch them achieve milestones is absolutely lovely.
My favourite bits: Some of my favourite parts are seeing babies become more confident with their swimming and also seeing how proud their parents are as they achieve new skills!
Teacher Name: Melissa Bolding
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2016
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler, Foundation and Aquanatal
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Marketing Coordinator and Teacher Development Trainer
Currently teaching at: Whyteleafe
A few words from Melissa: I have always enjoyed swimming and learnt from a young age. once I had my first daughter, I started to take her swimming, and just like me she thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved seeing her enjoy the water and get more confident. That’s when I decided to become a swimming teacher. As an Aquatots teacher I love seeing little ones grow confident in the water and progress so much each term.
My favourite bits: My favourite skill is high up in the sky it's such a fun skill, but also such an important lifesaving skill
Teacher Name: Jyoti Booth-Roberts
Teaching with Aquatots since: October 2019
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler, Child and Foundation Levels
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Marketing Coordinator and Teacher Development Trainer
Currently teaching at: Send and Ottershaw
A few words from Jyoti: I have always had a legal background, but worked long hours even though I enjoyed my job. After having my second child I realised my priorities had changed and I wanted to be around more for my children. I have always had a love of swimming as child from being part of a swimming club, being a lifeguard and a swim instructor for camp America. I have thoroughly enjoyed taking both of my children to swimming lessons and still do. So when the opportunity came up to work for Aquatots, I took the plunge and I have not looked back. Turning my passion into a career.
My favourite bits: I love getting to know the babies each week and seeing them progress. From the first under water swim and seeing them progress into the toddler levels. Also seeing the parent being amazed at what the babies can do.
Teacher Name: Lynne Briggs
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2021
Qualified to teach: Baby and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Teacher Development Trainer
Currently teaching at: Kings Lynn, Southend and Sudbury
A few words from Lynne: As a competitive swimmer myself my childhood was swimming training and competitions which I loved.
As a mum and then grandmother I taught the children to swim, and then as a foster Carer also taught all those children to swim as we believe that being able to swim to safety is one of life’s most important lessons.
So when I had the chance to become an Aquatots teacher I jumped at it.
My favourite bits: Watching the parents faces when their babies/ child do their first swim underwater, and then getting photos of them swimming underwater to cherish. Being a part of that experience makes this the best job ever.
Teacher Name: Vicky Bromfield
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2008
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler, Foundation, Child Levels and Aqua Natal
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Assistant Mentor and Teacher Development Trainer
Currently teaching at: Catford and Sidcup
A few words from Vicky: I first experienced Aquatots as a parent swimming my son, Charlie. I enjoyed it so much (and of course so did he) that I wanted to pass this experience on to other family’s so I decided to train up and join the team as a teacher. I now teach all swim levels including foundation and thoroughly enjoy it. It's the most rewarding job I've ever had and I can't imagine doing anything else now.
My favourite bits: There are too many to name! Every day I get to see and be a part of something special, from aqua natal classes with expecting mums, to babies first dip in level one, and toddlers first independent swims right up to the child levels and the amazing distances the children achieve. I feel privileged to be able to see how the children develop and progress into fantastic, confidant young swimmers and to know I helped with that.
Teacher Name: Kheyla Buchanan
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2015
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler, Foundation and Aquanatal
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Assistant Mentor and Teacher Development Trainer
Currently teaching at: On call
A few words from Kheyla: I have always had a genuine love for swimming and so when I had my son it was very important to me that he felt confident in water and loved it too. When he was 3 months old I started taking him to lessons with Aquatots and I absolutely adored having that time to bond with him in the water and seeing his confidence grow with each lesson. His teacher really made the lesson for me, her enthusiasm and genuine enjoyment from teaching our little ones was infectious. As I'd left my previous job to have my son it seemed like the perfect opportunity to try something new in such a rewarding field.
My favourite bits: There is nothing better than taking babies and helping them to find their love of the water. Those beaming smiles after completing underwater skills when they're so young or new to the water is such an incredible feeling as an instructor. Also, seeing how much the parents enjoy swimming with their babies, that transition from being a little more concerned and cautious to bouncing them around the pool and under water, as it's just as much about building the parents confidence in performing the skills as it is the babies.
Teacher Name: Julia Campagnola
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2022
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities:
Currently teaching at: Ottershaw
A few words from Julia: I’ve been swimming since age 6 months, and then every week until my swim club days and rescue with clothes tied up in knots as buoyancy guides!
My sister and I competed in every gala we could, and our mum gave us every opportunity to swim.
I then went on to swim for the County and joined the synchronised team as a teenager which was so much fun! I'm a complete water baby, so much so when I had my daughter in 2018, Aquatots provided me with the opportunity to get my little one into the water at just 6 months. She's just completed her 15metres at 4 years! I couldn't be happier.
My favourite bits: All the different babies! Supporting their confidence in the water and celebrating key achievements
Teacher Name: Joanne Cantillon

A few words from Joanne: I came to Aquatots for a new teaching challenge after being a primary school teacher for 12 years. Being able to teach babies from as young as 3 months old is such a joy. Seeing them grow and progress within the Aquatots lessons is such a pleasure and being part of their swimming journey as their teacher is an absolute privilege.
My favourite bits: I really enjoy playtime at the end of the lesson. Whether it's singing songs or jumping off the raft, it is wonderful to see the babies interacting with each other and enjoying the fun we are having.
Teacher Name: Hayley Chayfer
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2021
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities:
Currently teaching at: Morden and Ottershaw
A few words from Hayley: I have always loved swimming from such a young age. My parents thought it was such an important skill to learn for life. I then had my daughter, and I thought the same. She has been swimming with Aquatots since she was 5 months old. I now have trouble telling her what to do as she thinks she knows it all. When I received an email about becoming an Aquatots teacher I had no hesitation and I am enjoying every minute.
My favourite bits: Seeing the parents face when you tell them they are going to put their baby underwater and seeing their faces when they have done it. So happy. I am looking forward to taking many babies on the amazing journey my daughter has been on.
Teacher Name: Rachelle Colley-West
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2022
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities:
Currently teaching at: Ottershaw and Woking
A few words from Rachelle: When I younger, there was always two things I felt certain about my future… I wanted a job where I can be with babies all day and the other was to become a mermaid! I am still working on the mermaid part, but until then, I think I have found the next best thing. I have the best of both worlds! I could have been a schoolteacher or a midwife, but please tell me, where is more fun than in a swimming pool? After the arrival of my daughter back in 2018, we found ourselves loving our Aquatots swimming classes and when my son arrived in 2020, we got to enjoy it all over again. The pandemic was a pain, but I also have to the be grateful as it gave me the opportunity to dive right in, take the plunge and start my next adventure (would you believe me if I said no pun intended?). I look forward to sharing with all our future swimmers and their families the lifesaving skills, beautiful bonding moments and creating many memories, as well as opening other opportunities for their future. Now, some wise words from Dory (Finding Nemo) “Just keep Swimming”.
My favourite bits: Like my fellow swimming teachers, I am going to repeat and say I have many favourite bits… But I hope I have an answer that is different to the other teachers. My favourite is getting to share how I felt swimming with my kids, seeing the swimmers and their parents bonding and spending quality time together without the usual distractions of technology devices. I love meeting the new babies as they start their swimming journey, seeing them all grow their water confidence, to encouraging the older babies to splash and get everyone soaked, no one should come swimming and leave with dry hair (not on my watch!). Ultimately, my favourite bit is to make our swimmers want to come back, learn lifesaving skills, with lots of fun and making magical memories.
Teacher Name: Michelle Coolahan
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2022
Qualified to teach: Baby and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities:
Currently teaching at: East Grinstead
A few words from Michelle: After having my little boy in 2020 I didn’t really know what I wanted to do, as before that I had done a lot of traveling as a scuba diving instructor and loved it. Then I started Aquatots classes with my son and this is when I found out about training with them. I have always loved working with children and teaching scuba diving so this was a great combination. I met the team and just knew it was for me and now can't think of doing anything else.
My favourite bits: I have so many but I absolutely love watching the babies and parents gain more confidence over the term. Also watching the babies take their first underwater swim and the proud parents watching their little ones achieve this.
Teacher Name: Alex Dearlove
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2022
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Pool Coordinator
Currently teaching at: Peckham and Catford
A few words from Alex: Neither of my parents are confident swimmers, I didn't learn until school lessons started. I wanted my daughter to have the best start, I was keen to begin swimming as soon as possible, but because of lockdown, we didn't have the chance until she was 6 months old. She is now starting the toddler levels, I am continuously amazed by how confident and comfortable she is in the water.
My favourite bits: Having the chance to get to know all the parents & babies, watching them grow in confidence. I feel very lucky to be able to support them to learn this important life skill and we have a lot of fun along the way.
Teacher Name: George Duffell
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2021
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities:
Currently teaching at: Selhurst and Bramley Hill
A few words from George: I have always worked with babies and young children either in a nursery or school setting. After having my second son I decided I needed to focus on a goal for my family’s future, I wanted to better myself whilst still raising my children so there I was on the hunt! I then found Aquatots online and signed my youngest onto the course, 12 weeks later he gained his Ducklings certificate (Level 1) along with an abundance of confidence. I couldn’t be prouder, so I instantly signed him onto the next course and whilst at it I applied for a job which I saw advertised o on the website. 12 weeks later, here I am! A fully qualified baby swim teacher!
My favourite bits: I have many...from creating professional relationships with parents, to ‘baby’s first swim’ my ultimate favourite skill. It amazes me every time just as much as it does the parents. I LOVE seeing the parents and babies grow with confidence whilst learning the most important lifelong skills which they will never forget. This is a very rewarding job.
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2018
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities:
Currently teaching at: Bagshot, Woking, East Horsley and Whiteley Village
A few words from Aniko: I love the water. My mother's opinion always was that a child should learn how to swim and ride a bike. So, me and my siblings learned to swim in our early years and enjoyed water and pools safely since. When my son was born, I knew straight away that I would like to take him swimming, and I enrolled in a leisure centre when he was 5 months old (that was the age limit). After more than a year though I felt like we are not going anywhere, the lessons seemed pretty much the same like the very first lesson, so we stopped as I thought it is a waste of money. Shortly afterwards I found Aquatots and gave swimming lessons another go. And I am so glad I did! I completed the Aquatots baby swimming teacher training and feel this program gives so much more. It is really a "Gift of a lifetime"! The skills and the water confidence it gives to our children is invaluable. I am very happy to be part of it. I really enjoy seeing our little swimmers bloom and see what they can achieve in only in a short time.
My favourite bits: My favourite exercises are the Volunteer swims as children enjoy this skill and great to build confidence. Other much-loved part of this job when I see babies over the terms progress and bloom. They start timid and uncertain and with time they just grow in body and skill and confidence.
Teacher Name: Claire Harmer
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2024
Qualified to teach: Baby and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities:
Currently teaching at: Selhurst
A few words from Claire: My son started swimming with aquatots when he was 5 months old, he’s now coming into the last baby level and loves his aquatots swimming lessons and the teachers! As a parent seeing him grow in water confidence is just wonderful. I come from a water sports family so there’s no escaping the water! I was at a point in my life when I wanted a change of career, something that would fit in around family life and my son going to nursery. A long story short, I made an enquiry to aquatots and here I am today a qualified baby swimming instructor!
My favourite bits: A huge sense of achievement seeing less confident swimmers progress and seeing their water confidence grow. I love everything about aquatots teaching; teaching that lifesaving skill of how to swim but at the same time making it fun and enjoyable for everyone.
Teacher Name: Louise Huber-D’Cruze
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2014
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler, Foundation and Aquanatal
Additional Aquatots responsibilities:
Currently teaching at: Epsom
A few words from Louise: I have always been a keen swimmer since I was a child, so once my son was born, I was eager to introduce him to swimming as soon as possible. This is when I discovered Aquatots and the fantastic swimming programme they have. I was staggered with the progression my son made just in level 1 alone. It was at this point that I knew I wanted to become an Aquatots teacher as I could see how rewarding and fun the job must be.
My favourite bits: As an Aquatots teacher I count myself extremely lucky to have a job I enjoy so much. The feeling you get when you see the confidence and ability grow in a young child from the initial level 1 when it is often the child’s first experience in a swimming pool, right through to level 7 is so satisfying and fulfilling.
Teacher Name: Hannah Joyce
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2019
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler and Foundation Levels
Additional Aquatots responsibilities:
Currently teaching at: East Grinstead
A few words from Hannah: I have always enjoyed swimming since I was small and loved the idea of taking my own daughter, so as soon as she was 10 weeks old, we started lessons - she loves it! It is amazing how much they can do and how natural the water can be for young babies. Aquatots is great because it guides parents on the best way to make the most of this, giving both babies and parents the confidence to enjoy the water and learn important safety skills while having fun and spending precious time together.
My favourite bits: I love seeing the different personalities of each baby, how they interact with the water and progress and grow on their own journey as little Aquatots!
Teacher Name: Laura Knight
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2023
Qualified to teach: Baby and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Pool Coordinator
Currently teaching at: Beckenham Park
A few words from Laura: I first came to Aquatots when my daughter was 10 weeks old. I really wanted her to learn to be safe and have fun in the water and after reading reviews I decided the only place to take her was to Aquatots!!
I enjoyed our lessons so much, and my daughter learnt so much, that when I saw there was an opportunity to work as an Aquatots teacher I jumped at the opportunity.
I never imagined that going to work could be so much fun!!
My favourite bits: I love helping babies to have their first underwater swim and seeing the pride on their parents faces.

A few words from Sharleen: Swimming has been a passion of mine since I started when I was four years old. The value of safety and her enjoying the lessons then inspired me to become an Aquatots teacher.
My favourite bits: I am excited to build survival skills in babies and follow their swim journeys as they grow.
Teacher Name: Sharolyn Longman
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2014
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Teacher Development Trainer

A few words from Sharolyn: After our eldest started with swimming with Aquatots, I began thinking about teaching. Then when our 2nd came along, it just made sense. Why not teach other Mum's and Dad's to enjoy the water with their babies, while teaching them a life skill. As a family we all love our Aquatots lessons, and I now take great joy in being able to share that with other families.
My favourite bits: Watching the children progress through the levels is so rewarding. Taking them from their first underwater swim in Level 1, to having the confidence to be able to run along the raft and jump in in Level 7 is just amazing! And taking underwater photos has to be one of my favourite weeks of the term. They are such a special memento of your baby's childhood.

Being part of the Aquatots team still continues to be a weekly reward and the training I have done over the years has given me confidence in the delivery of the whole Aquatots experience. As well as the reward of giving the children lifesaving skills, it is always such a pleasure to see the positive and unique moments that are delivered weekly to the parents and their children. Equally for me, the lessons with my children have been my most treasured time and I am continually marvelled by what they achieve each level.

A few words from Hayley: I have always been a keen swimmer and use to swim competitively when I was younger. After years of working in an office I decided I wanted a new challenge and to do something which I felt passionately about so what could more rewarding than teaching baby swimming! My daughter is in the Aquatots programme and even though I now teach my own classes, taking her to her lesson is still the highlight of my week.
My favourite bits: Seeing how confident both parent and baby become each week and knowing that as well as having fun we are teaching the babies something so valuable. I feel very privileged to be a part of all my Aquatots swimmers’ journey.

A few words from Bea: I was always working with people or in the hospitality industry, and after the pandemic in the hospital. It really makes me happy to interact with people and help them. After I became a mother, I realised I can't spend that much time working as my little one needs me the most. When I started baby swimming with her, I fell in love with the job straight away and I decided I want to become a baby swimming teacher.
My favourite bits: It is just wonderful to see how a baby becomes so confident in the water, the enjoyment on their face and the pride on the parent's face. Also, in the same time you're teaching such important lifesaving skills.

Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Teacher Development Trainer and Regional Mentor
Currently teaching at: On Call
A few words from Rita: I don’t know why I haven’t started teaching swimming long time ago. Since swimming my children with Aquatots I thought about it for a long time. Was excited to see that there were opportunities to become a teacher and once done, never looked back. Knew I would like it because I love sports but never thought that I would love it this much!
My favourite bits: Fantastic to see how the babies grow in water confidence till they get to toddlers and how much more they grow and enjoy swimming. Taking underwater photos is fantastic and also the excitement of the distance swimming is fantastic especially once they reach that first 5m achievement!

Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler, Foundation and Child Levels
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Teacher Development Trainer and Assistant Mentor
Currently teaching at: Caterham Valley and Woldingham
A few words from Elise: I first encountered the Aquatots programme when I enrolled my baby daughter. We absolutely loved it, my daughter got so much positive stimulation out of it from the word go and I thought it was absolutely magical. I quickly started to look forward to our weekly sessions and treasured this lovely bonding time in pool, especially when I returned to work full time. I used to always think what a wonderful job the teachers had and I was quite envious. That is when it dawned on me to contact Aquatots and see if there were any opportunities for me. You realise how much your child gets out of the programme when you go on your family holidays and other people around the hotel pool can't believe how accomplished a young toddler is in the water, and comment to you how exceptional it is for such a young child to be able to do the things they can confidently do. It fills you with pride.
My favourite bits: Fantastic to see how the babies grow in water confidence

A few words from Hayley: I became an Aquatots teacher after my three children where in full time school. I had decided it was time for a complete career change. I do not come from a swimming background but have always known the importance of swimming as a lifesaving skill. I look forward to seeing all my swimmers every week and get great satisfaction knowing that I am able to teach them all such a valuable life lesson. I have the best job and have so much fun doing something I love.
My favourite bits: The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the less confident children progress every week and seeing how proud the parents are when babies do their first swim.
Teacher Name: Rhian Singh

A few words from Rhian: As a mother and a lover of sports I feel as if there is no better place for me than at Aquatots. After swimming my daughter here and experiencing Aquatots first hand, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I can’t imagine spending my days anywhere else but in the pool with everyone!
My favourite bits: I love to see everyone’s confidence grow. Babies and parents too! Narrowing it down, my favourite bits are creating bonds and memories with families that they will take away for life while teaching a fun but also valuable life skill!

A few words from Gill: I became an Aquatots Teacher after having my son. I have loved the water since childhood and teaching people new skills, so I thought combining the two would be a great career move. I've not looked back since. I look forward to seeing my swimmers each week and get great satisfaction from seeing them all progress.
My favourite bits: What I find most rewarding in my job is seeing the less confident swimmers overcome their fears to eventually love the water and it's always a huge thrill to see the toddlers bring all their skills together to swim across the pool unaided for the first time.
Teacher Name: Corinne Swaine
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2022
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities:
Currently teaching at: Streatham
A few words from Corinne: When I was younger, I swam at swimming schools in Redhill and Reigate. I have always had a love and passion for swimming and really enjoy it. I first took my daughter in the pool when she was 4 months old and eventually taught her to swim, she is now 18 and also loves water.
During the week I work as a room leader in a nursery, looking after children under five, which is also one of my passions, so I thought why not combine the two and become a baby swimming teacher. Last but not least, my daughter and I have a 2 year old American Bulldog who strangely enough, is also a huge water fan so beach days for my little family are brilliant!
My favourite bits: What I enjoy the most about teaching little ones to swim is seeing the progress they make in such a short space of time! Whilst having fun, seeing them grow in confidence and develop their ability to happily execute the new skills each week makes me very proud. There is nothing more rewarding knowing thy you have helped someone else achieve their goal.
Teacher Name: Liz Tulloch
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2021
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler, Child and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Marketing Coordinator, Pool Coordinator and Teacher Development Trainer
Currently teaching at: Catford, Peckham and Worcester Park
A few words from Liz: From the age of 3 my parents took me swimming and I loved it the very first time. I swam through my school years and chipped my tooth on the side of the pool in primary school but that didn’t put me off for long!
I later moved onto diving in the Caribbean on a holiday and ended up assisting a Padi Instructor there for a year after finishing University in London. This was one of the best years; day and night diving with sharks too!
I then returned to London and worked my way up in a retail career.
I am so happy to be a part of Aquatots and focus all my passion for swimming into babies and children and see the parents so proud of their progress. I enjoy swimming on a weekly basis and now take my own babies to Aquatots too. I have been teaching alongside being pregnant and it’s the best feeling to be in the water.
My favourite bits: My favourite part is seeing the children’s confidence grow and any fear disappear to become strong and safe swimmers! I also enjoy watching the parents' happy faces after successfully completing a skill or lesson that they thought may not be achieved by their little one!
Teacher Name: Claire Watson
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2022
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler and Foundation
Additional Aquatots responsibilities:
Currently teaching at: Bagshot and Worcester Park
A few words from Claire: When my first daughter came along, both myself and my partner were eager for her to be confident and happy in the water – something we both struggled with as children, although I love it now. I discovered Aquatots, enrolled her at 10 weeks and haven’t looked back since. I am constantly stunned by the skills my two daughters have learnt, with my eldest in child levels and youngest soon to be able to do her independent 5m at just 3 years old! Their skills simply prove what an amazing program Aquatots is for baby and child swimming, and a program I was eager to join. So at my first opportunity I jumped into an Aquatots teaching role and love it!
My favourite bits: I love watching the confidence build in both the babies and parents. It’s fantastic to be able to witness the pride in their faces at when new skills are accomplished, and the enjoyment they so evidently take from it. All this whilst teaching such an important lifesaving skill.
Teacher Name: Natalie Watt
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2012
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler, Foundation and Child Levels
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Teacher Development Trainer, Marketing and Social Media Co-Ordinator and member of the Aquatots Development Team.
Currently teaching at: Bramley Hill and Woldingham
A few words from Natalie: I became an Aquatots Teacher after experiencing Aquatots lessons as a parent, swimming my baby daughter, and having watched my niece come through the Aquatots programme. I have always loved swimming so this seemed like the perfect career change for me after having a child. I have never looked back and struggle to think of another job that would be quite so rewarding and enjoyable on a day to day basis. My husband jokes that I don't work for a living as I just have fun with children in the water, and to be honest sometimes it's easy to agree as how can work be so much fun??? It's so rewarding to think that the skills I am teaching each week are giving children a life skill.
My favourite bits: There are so many enjoyable parts to my role but if I had to pick my favourites I would say being with a Toddler when they take their very first 5 metre independent swim as you actually feel just as proud an emotional as the parents particularly if they have swum with you for some time. My second would be introducing Level 7 babies to the new playtime activity of running on the raft which is always a delight!
Teacher Name: Alex Wickenden
Teaching with Aquatots since: 2008
Qualified to teach: Baby, Toddler, Foundation and Child Levels
Additional Aquatots responsibilities: Teacher Development Trainer
Currently teaching at: Bletchingley, Sevenoaks and Horley
A few words from Alex: I started with Aquatots in the first place because i really wanted the picture of my baby under water, like the Nirvava CD!! Little did i know how much more I would get out of Aquatots, I now have an 12 year old that has swum 1750m at age 9, and a 8 year old that swam 300m aged 4, and 100m aged 3, unbelievable, I am the proudest mum ever, and just to think all it started with was a picture!.
My favourite bits: When they achieve their first 5 meters, being told that they really enjoyed their class. Teaching child levels and hearing the parent’s feedback on how much their child enjoyed their lesson, and the children telling me how much fun they had. I get a real buzz from that!
Teacher Name: Zlaty Yurukova

A few words from Zlaty: I decided to become a baby swimmer teacher after the wonderful experience of learning how to swim my son combined with so much fun and good vibes! After working in the busy and stressful city being able to work in such amazing environment filled with only good vibes, smiles and prize it’s fabulous and rewarding to watch these babies develop and build water confidence.
My favourite bits: all the laughter during our fun learning skills, the proud look on parents faces and the bigger kids after each success, the eagerness to come into the water and all the love these kids are giving me.
